• Avoid at all costs

  I have just had the most horrific experience with this company. I returned the courtesy car not noticing that someone had dragged their keys down the side of the car. I was astonished to be made aware by this garage that it would by their account cost me £200 as they said it needed repainting taking all the wings off. I asked if I could get a second opinion to which they tried to dissuade me with some bull about it couldn’t be fixed another way, they told me the paint was expensive although it was a standard red Colt, but they needed it like new even though it had a dent and scratched when we signed for it. After half an hour they finally agreed for me to speak with the owner of the courtesy car who then told me that it didn’t need repainting or the wings coming off. We agreed that I could take it to another garage to get another estimate I found Lane end garage in Pudsey who told me as I thought that it could be t-cutted out and told me to go to motor save. This I did and they advised me the same also shop assistant came out to show me how the scratch would come out given time and a bit of elbow grease. I then went back to T F Smiths with T-cut and advised them what the other garages had to say but they still wanted the £200 pounds. To which I wasn’t happy advised them that I would go through my solicitors as they were trying to con me out of £200 when it was a simple issue. They told me that was not necessary but still wanted the money I asked for my car keys back to which they refused to give me and told me to call police which I was about to do so and got to pressing in 999 in my phone to which they then turned round and said I was being stupid. I kept asking for my car keys which they kept refusing to give me. At this point I was very annoyed as you can imagine after an hour and half trying to sort this problem out. I also took photos of the scratches which are that small they haven’t come out in the photos. Please people be warned do not go to this garage under any circumstances!!!!!! Especially if you’re a lady as I felt like I was been talked to like I didn’t know what I was on about just because of my gender.
