Toby Carvery offer a friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere, an ideal place to go to if you are looking for a generous meal that's also great value. If you want to meet up with your family and friends for a celebration meal, or have a quick bite of lunch, or simply spend some time out for a few drinks, then Toby's the place for you.
We use this wonderful carvery regularly because the service is good and the food so tastey you can't help going back time and time again. No need to book unless there are over ten in your party. There is plenty of parking to the front (6 disabled spots) and an overflow car park around the side to the back. The area at the front is filled with tables and chairs for when the weather is good...the optimum word being WHEN!...and it is always spotlessly clean and tidy.Upon entry, you are greeted by the Maitre de, who will take your name and how many in your party, before advising of how long your wait will be. You can then take a seat indoors, or out, with a drink to await your name being called. The restaurant is large with many nooks and crannies for a more romantic or private table (if you want somewhere in particular you may request it but it could be a longer wait) and once seated at you table, you can order from the menu or opt for the £7.95 carvery. We have eaten from both menus and found the food to be of excellent quality and plenty of it.If you choose the carvery, you use the queueing system and have a choice of beef, turkey, or gammon, followed by seasonal veg (5 or 6 choices) roast potatoes, and creamed or new, then thre are 2 or 3 different gravies depending on the meats you choose (you can have 1 or a mixture) and the condiments to go with them. These are all on a seperate table and you can have as much or as little as you choose. We visit here at least 6 times a year and have never had cause for complaint, the place is clean and tidy, service is quick, friendly and polite and prices are reasonable. We have never visited and seen a table empty or people not waiting, whether its a Sunday lunch or Saturday evening.
